Job Title: Storage/SAN Admin

Location: Milwaukee, WI

Duration: 1Year Extendable

 

Primary Skills: SAN Storage Administration (either IBM or HP SAN), NetApps NAS and Tivoli Storage Manager (TSM)

 

 Excellent hands on knowledge on IBM & HP SAN, NetApps NAS and Configuring / Managing enterprise Backup (TSM)
·         Proactive Monitoring and management of the Backup environment (Client / Catalog Backup Jobs)
·         Monitoring Backup server logs, OS logs, alert logs, event logs
·         Maintaining and updating the log register
·         Monitoring of Scratch Pools
·         Updating operation handbook / Runbooks
·         Automation of backup jobs through scripting
·         Updating the design documents w.r.t to changes implemented
·         Troubleshooting, configuration management, Implement changes.
·         Restarting of Failed jobs or running the jobs manually as part of troubleshooting
·         Client configuration or de-configuration support
·         Coordinate hardware and software vendor technical support
·         Master / Media server configuration
·         Hardware configurations (Tape, Drive, VTL, etc)
·         Create / delete / modify storage pools
·         Diagnosing, analyzing, performance (SAN and NAS)
·         Configuring Backup/Recovery policies and maintain record of changes to policies
·         Implementing ILM, Archival solution as per client requirement
·         Implementing Best Practices and Recommendations (Data Depute)
·         Resolving escalated issue and creating the K.E.D.B, Conducting Root Cause Analysis (RCA) on Severity 1 issues
