US CONSULTING - CONTRACT Hot Req :: PostgreSQL Database Administrator

Position: PostgreSQL Database Administrator

Location: Ft. Worth, Texas

Duration: Min 6 Months

 

The right candidate will have the role of a Database Administrator in the Enterprise Data Projects department. Will be responsible to develop a plan and guide different application teams migrate into PostreSQL database. Will work closely with infrastructure team to set up the various environments, monitoring, backup etc. Adhere to company's technology standards.

Qualifications:

The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5+ years PostgreSQL specific experience. Experience in the following areas is required:
PostgreSQL database build and maintenance.
Data and application migration tools.
SQL, Query Writing, Data manipulation etc.
Basic database functionlaity like memory management, table partitioning, parallelism, tablespaces etc.
Experience with VMWare's technology - VCenter, Vmotion, VM backup etc is highly desired
Experience with Oracle is desired

Should be able to communicate and work equally well with Developers, DBA's, Infrastructure and Network teams, and Project Managers. Airline industry knowledge is a plus. Potential candidates must have a degree in Computer Science or related Engineering field
