Job Title : Software Engineer (Java and product development) (Bay Area)-immediate contract

 

Primary Skills : 6-8 yrs of software dev exp (preferably in product development)

Location : Bay Area

Rate : 
market, # of Positions : 3, Duration : 6 months plus possible extention

 

Description :

Responsibilities:

- Maintain existing code base, complete bug fixes, diagnose issues, enhance performance.

- Participate in the design and implementation of new features- writing solid, performance Java code.

- Work with other members of the platform team to deliver an optimal end-to-end customer experience.

- Work with QA, Release, Support, and Technical Publications staff during the release cycle.

Qualifications:
- Masters in Computer Science or equivalent engineering field required, MS/MTech preferred.
- 6-8 years of software development experience (preferably in product development).
- Excellent problem solving and written/verbal communication skills, self-motivation, and an attention to detail.
- Experience with large scale Java system development, including use of multi-threading, synchronization, debugging, and performance.
- in depth knowledge of XML, XSD, WSDL

- Ideal candidate will have:
- knowledge of enterprise applications and enterprise integration.
- previous work experience of developing enterprise-class products, product infrastructure pieces
- working knowledge of writing unit tests the code being developed/fixed, using best practices, tools for mock testing and alike.
- Demonstratable, solid debugging skills in a highly distributed and layered software system.

- Familiarity with technologies as: OSGi, Eclipse Plugin development, SCA, Spring, J2EE servers, Java classloading internals and integration technologies such as SOAP, policy management and web services; and leading industry Java standards such as JAXB, JNDI, JDBC, JMX, and JMS.
