DETAILS:

Position: Sr. SQL Server Developer

Location: Auburn Hills, MI

Duration: 6 months (Contract to hire)

Interview: Telephonic

Preference will be given to GC and US Citizens since it's a C2H spot.

 

Description:

The primary objective of the SQL Server Developer is to develop and maintain SQL Server databases ensuring data integrity, security, retention, and recoverability of the data.  In this role, the Developer will design, build, test, and deploy quality database solutions that are consistent with organizational objectives, project requirements, and best practices.  The Developer will create and administer database objects from design to deployment utilizing subject matter expertise to design or re-use, configure, and implement database solutions/processes that maximize system availability, efficiency, effectiveness, integrity, recoverability, and supportability.

 

Essential Duties and Primary Responsibilities include the following (other duties may be assigned):

• All aspects of database administration including installation, configuration, upgrades, patching, migration, capacity planning, performance tuning, backup and recovery in a 24/7 environment.
• Proactive database monitoring and issue resolution.
• Actively participate and contribute to projects involving enterprise database systems enhancements to meet business requirements.
• Develop and implement database security policies and procedures aligned with organizational objectives.
• Create and maintain appropriate documentation about databases and the data architecture.
• Regular proactive capacity planning and reviews of all databases, producing management reports.
• Design and develop architecture for data warehouse
• Backup and restore databases as necessary.

Competencies:

• Strong knowledge of T-SQL, SSIS, SSRS, ETL, Analysis Services, and SQL Server Management Studio.
• Strong experience designing and managing data warehouses and data cubes.
• Strong experience automating processing schedules and notifications.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Experience supporting Hyperion Financial Management database preferred.

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of experience working as a hands-on with Microsoft SQL Server 2005/2008 database
• Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, Business Intelligence, Information Technology or related field.
