Skills Required and Job Description:

Hands-on developer, coder and design work. Strong with Groovy and Grails skills.  Practitioners of the IT Application Development profession primarily focus on providing high quality, cost effective information technology solutions to business partners by creating new or modifying and/or supporting existing software applications. Associates are expected to design, code, analyze, configure, unit test, and maintain applications.  Top-level technical expert in one or more highly specialized phases of applications programming. Provides technical consulting on complex projects. Devises or modifies procedures to solve complex problems considering computer equipment capacity and limitations, operating time, and form of desired results. Responsible for program design, coding, testing, debugging, and documentation. Has full technical knowledge of all phases of applications programming  Undergraduate studies in computer science, management information systems, mathematics or related field is strongly preferred.  Grails developer with experience in web development Groovy &Grails  Above average skills in the following areas and technologies needed: JDBC, relational databases, SQL, XML, Hibernate, Spring  Unit testing, test driven development, analytical skills, problem solving skills, and design work ability  Must have solid object-oriented development experience  Experience with an IDE such as Eclipse or STS Highly Desired:   Java development with web applications and Web Services experience a plus.  jQuery & Grails jQuery plug-in  Ability to translate business requirements into tech specs. Knowledge of Insurance a plus.  Bachelors degree (or equivalent experience)
