POSITION DESCRIPTION:

If you are a highly motivated and experienced Java Application Developer, there is  a very exciting and challenging opportunity to work on our strategic financial application. Working within a growing team in the Ft. Lauderdale office, the candidate responsibilities will include design, coding, troubleshooting and optimization of Java-based application. Our technology stack includes Java 1.7, J2EE, Oracle 11g, Hibernate, Struts, Spring, EJB, Tomcat, WAS, Liferay. A significant focus will be applied to overall application performance and ensuring the delivered solution is highly efficient and scalable.

 

 

II. ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONS:

This position reports to development manager.   .

 

 

III. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Design & Development of Java/J2EE based application based on business requirements, while adhering to Citco development standards

• Proficient in web technologies, including HTML, XML, CSS, AJAX, and JavaScript

• Requires technical skills that include Java/JEE, Web Services, -N- Tier Architecture, and Oracle

• Optimization and troubleshooting

• Documentation of developed  solution

• Technical direction according to development best practices and current development technologies

 

IV. Other:

• Knowledge of financial industry an asset

• Experience on any Portal technologies is a plus

• Excellent problem solving and communication skills.

• Ability to quickly learn and apply new technologies

• Must be able to meet deadlines and changing priorities in a high-pressured environment

• Possess the ability to stay calm and professional with clients and staff experiencing technical issues

 

V. EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

• Bachelors' degree or equivalent experience; relevant designations an asset

• 5+ years experience in development of web applications and/or software

• 3+ years professional hands-on experience of the full SDLC in J2EE based application development

• 4+ years of Object Oriented development experience, using Java

 

The ideal candidate will have proven experience in development of enterprise level JEE applications and delivering efficient and scalable solutions. The candidate must have in-depth knowledge and hands-on experience in the following technologies:

• Java 1.7

• JEE

• Struts

• JSP

• Spring

• Hibernate

• Apache

• Tomcat

• Websphere Application Server

• Oracle
