Person should have experience developing applications in Natural/ADABAS and knowledge of JCL. Knowledge of PL1 and Mark IV is a plus. Person should have good analytical skills, be self-motivated, a good team player and be willing to support applications during off hours.

 

Work Experience Desired:         
Candidate must have experience in mainframe development using NATURAL/ADABAS. Knowledge of JCL is also a requirement.
Core Job Responsibilities:
1.   Customer focus, thorough communications.  Requests will be communicated in person, via email, or through phone calls.  All requests need to be acknowledged and managed as soon as possible.  Customer satisfaction is our primary goal.
2.   Coordination of work.  Many tasks require the help of other people within IT and the business.  The candidate will need to work with these various groups to ensure solutions are implemented quickly
3.   Development and Break/Fix.  Development will be performed using NATURAL on the mainframe.  Development will consist of break/fix activities as well as making enhancements to mainframe systems..
4.    Supports the system directly by assisting users, troubleshooting technical issues, researching issues and writing ad-hoc reports
5.    Support mainframe system during off-hours by carrying a rotational cell phone. Candidate will be expected to share these off hour support responsibilities with other members of the mainframe team.

 

Helpful Skills and Abilities

 

Must be comfortable juggling many things in an environment of constantly changing priorities.
Must be organized and able to track numerous concurrent requests.
Experience with documentation, task management, and priority management is a plus. 
Strong Troubleshooting skills are required.
