We seek a Sr. Business Systems Analyst for our client located in Jacksonville, FL. The Business Systems Analyst will work on enhancements to existing applications and new builds. Below is the formal job description but please note these specific skills that are very, very important to the client
Must have well developed communication skills to be able to interview internal and external business units and clients
Candidate must be an expert at soliciting, eliciting, and documenting requirements
FORMAL DESCRIPTION
Duties:
Directs, defines, documents and carries out small to medium projects actively participating in all phases. Identifies, assesses and manages risks to the success of the project. Delivers realistic project and quality plans and tracks activities against the plans, providing regular and accurate reports to stakeholders as appropriate. Monitors costs, timescales and resources used, and takes action where these deviate from agreed tolerances.
Manages the investigation of operational requirements, organizational designs, problems, and opportunities, seeking effective business solutions through improvements in automated and non-automated components of new or changed processes. Manages the analysis of business processes; identifies alternative solutions, assesses feasibility, and recommends new approaches.
Contributes to evaluating the factors which must be addressed in the change program. Helps establish requirements for the implementation of changes in the departmental business process. Uses appropriate tools, including use cases, process models, non-functional requirements, user interface wireframes, UML activity diagrams, state diagrams, to contribute to the development of systems architectures in specific business or functional areas that are maintainable and supportable.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, business or information systems, or equivalent experience
Work Experience:
5-8 years of experience as a Systems / Business Analyst for web based projects.
Able to conceptualize and think creatively
Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
Persuasive, patient manner and team leadership capabilities
Previous experience eliciting requirements through interviews, follow up, mock-ups
Strong hands-on work with use cases is required; use case exercise will be given as part of interview process
Preferably supply chain projects but can be learned. Online shipping reservation and rates similar to airline industry
Must possess skill sets and demonstrated, proven experience developing, improving and streamlining processes to meet established goals and objectives. Requires the ability to effectively manage projects that may vary in nature and scope.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook and Word. Some positions may also include proficiency in other Microsoft Office applications
Prefer someone with supply chain or airline reservation system project experience
