Position: COGNOS-Senior Reporting Developer

Location: Chicago, IL

Duration: 6 months

 

Job description:

 

·         This position is for a Senior Report developer whose primary responsibilities include the following

·         Serve as a technical member of a development team and interact with client and internal teams.

·         Design and construct Reports for Marketing and Sales applications using Cognos 8.4 and 10. 

·         Support existing Cognos Framework and Reports by performing continuous improvements and performance tuning. 

·         Work with other skilled team members to develop software solutions that meet user expectations. 

·         Effectively manage daily tasks to meet key deliverables within the software development lifecycle.

·         Should be able to work with offshore and onshore team

·         Strong experience of 6+ years in Data Warehouse and Business Intelligence Systems, Processes, and Operations utilizing Cognos Cubes and Reports.

·         Strong experience Developing reporting and analytics solutions.

·         Strong experience working in the Pharmaceuticals industry a plus

·         Experience utilizing and interpreting data from applications like Team Connect. 

·         Strong Experience in real time dash board reporting

·         Strong background in cube builds against dimensional data as well as relational

·         Strong experience utilizing IBM Cognos 8 and 10 Business Intelligence Suite (Query Studio, Analysis Studio and Framework Manager).

·         Strong knowledge of database systems like Oracle and Relational Database Design required.

·         Qlikview 11 Knowledge is strongly preferred.  

·         Clear understanding of the entire project life cycle including Analysis, Design and Development. 

·         Experience creating high-level technical specifications for use by resources and for knowledge transfer

·         Innovative, self-motivated, delivery focused and detail-oriented with excellent communication skills with peers and users. 

·         Able to work individually and across globally diversified virtual technology teams.

·         Strong interpersonal, client service, oral and written communications, organizational, and task management skills.

·         Ability to work effectively with clients, and management and its staff members.

·         Sound judgment and tact.
