Skills Required and Job Description:

Interview Mode: Telephonic followed by face to face Skills: Write standards compliant Web (HTML, JavaScript, PHP, SQL and CSS) Identify, review, configure and maintain Drupal modules Resolve bugs Participate in code review and resolving change requests Managing complexity and technical debt within the codebase by encapsulating, abstracting and refactoring Technical documentation Creating automated tests Learn new technologies and apply them to projects Essential Skills & Experiences Along with a desire to keep learning new skills you will already have built up strong work experience and knowledge of the following: PHP & JavaScript programing SQL & Relational Database Design Using Version Control. We currently use BZR & GIT HTML and CSS Understanding of HTTP and Cookies At least two years developing solutions with Drupal. Drupal is a very rewarding platform so this role will suit someone passionate about the Drupal project and open source in general. Work experience or strong interest in media websites. We talk a lot about user journeys, commercial goals, brand and dealing with high traffic so already having an appreciation of these components will allow you to excel within the team, department, business and group. Strong verbal and written communication. Internet technologies are evolving quickly so being able to explain opportunities, limitations and compromises to colleagues with varying technical backgrounds will allow decisions to be made which will snowball into creating worldclass products. Technologies we Use Drupal Pressflow Hudson/Jenkins is used for automating processes such as site builds, cron, and reporting Splunk is used monitor logs from both Apache and Drupal's Watchdog Varnish is used for Edge Side Includes, ESI, and generally shielding the web servers by returning cached content when many users request the same page Memcache is used to offload storing caches from MYSQL CSS Grids are used to keep a consistent layout to the pages Selenium & Simpletest Automated Test Suites are used to check each new code release does not break an existing feature. The team are also interesting in Behat and Gherkin. Google's DART service is used to target and deliver advertisements Brightcove's Video Service is used to stream video to both Flash and HTML5 players Linux; we currently use Redhat, Centos, and Ubuntu is also popular in the team VMWare & Puppet are used to keep the development server configurations inline with staging and production.
