This is for the infrastructure & operations group, and will be predominantly architecture, installation, configuration and administration type of role. We don't want developers/implementation consultant candidates.

 

Job Title:                     Senior OBIEE Administrator

 

Duration:                      6+ Months

 

Location:                       Natick MA

 

SUMMARY:

The OBIEE Administrator will provide technical expertise and will be responsible for infrastructure support on various Oracle applications that can be customized for various purposes.  The responsibilities include the installation, configuration, maintenance and support of systems utilized by the company for financial reporting, such as Oracle OBIEE, and BI Publisher. The consultant will lead and participate in team projects, some of which will be high level, so very strong communication and collaboration skills are required.  The ability to succeed in a fast paced and highly dynamic environment is also required.  To be effective in this role the candidate must understand the architecture of the solution and the infrastructure it utilizes.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

·         Provide technical support of OBIEE / BI Apps by performing tasks including installation and configuration of new environments (development, QA and production).

·         Manage patches and upgrades, configuring, tuning and monitoring transaction queues.

·         Conduct promotion, deployment and troubleshooting of new code.

·         Perform daily monitoring and analysis of audit and error logs

·         Install and configure Middleware products such as Weblogic Server, Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition (OBIEE) 11g, and Oracle BI Publisher 11g

·         Perform configuration-, release-, and change management activities as required by the Enterprise packaged solutions.

·         Support installation and maintenance of the Enterprise packaged solutions in production and non-production environments.

·         Install patches and upgrades.

·         Configure and administer the application, including user provisioning and maintenance.

·         Monitor status and activity of the Enterprise packaged solutions, generate and review product logs, and support/define report creation and execution.

·         Provide guidance regarding troubleshooting issues with end users, technical staff and/or the vendor to arrive at prompt solutions for critical problems.  Understand the affects the introduction of new system functionality will have on the solution and take appropriate action to ensure service level agreements (SLAs) are met.

·         Provide technical implementation expertise and support in the maintenance and tuning of OBIEE environment.  Install, configure and manage OBIEE environments, including reports and dashboards.

·         Responsible for OBIEE administration, security, and repository maintenance.

·         Troubleshoot and resolve support issues in a timely manner as defined in SLAs.  Facilitate and implement infrastructure and application changes following all established process and procedures.

·         Set up environments for new projects with subject areas, folders, security and AD groups within the OBIEE environments

·         Install, configure, upgrade and patch ETL, DAC, BI server and BI deployment platform.

·         Manage and monitor RPD

·         Manage and monitor cache and performance tuning of OBIEE

·         Manage and monitor Informatica repository and Workflows and designer tools.

·         Install, configure, upgrade and patch DAC servers.

·         Define and manage execution plans; define, tweak and manage subject areas.

·         Monitor Execution - ETL runs, security management, performance tuning.

·         Participate in requirements definition studies, develop workflows of current and proposed system operations, collect and organize pertinent system documentation, and develop system documentation.

·         Participate in development of implementation plans.

·         Participate in post-implementation reviews.

·         Provide status and activity reports; report progress of assignments that may affect the outcome of the project.

·         Identify and resolve problems with production application systems.

·         Keep informed on new and emerging application development technologies.

·         Monitor, manage and resolve incoming service desk calls.

QUALIFICATIONS:

·         Excellent organizational skills

·         Excellent written and verbal skills

·         Experience in application support/user help desks.

·         Demonstrated experience working with database applications.

·         5+ years experience in administering OBIEE environments.

·         Linux experience required

·         Strong technical knowledge of OBIEE admin/metadata tools and security.

·         Experience installing and configuring OBIEE 11g, DAC and Informatica

·         Experience in performance tuning in OBIEE and gathering performance metrics for various measures in reports.

·         Experience with OBIEE admin tool, web catalog and RPD.

·         Experience in migration techniques for OBIEE components into various test and production environments.

·         Experience in troubleshooting issues on server and presentation side.

·         Knowledge of standard system development lifecycle concepts.

·         Ability to gather, understand and document reporting requirements.

·         Motivated individual that works well with minimal supervision.

·         Strong Oracle database skills required

·         Working knowledge of Informatica repository and migration of custom repository objects

·         The incumbent must be flexible as there may be workweeks that require more than 40 hours to ensure the positions expectations and responsibilities are met.
