Title: Sr. Java/Reporting Architect
Location: Concord, NH

Job Description:
Seeking a talented Sr. Java Architect with reporting expertise to develop a framework for Java batch processing and reporting. This project will include ground up development beginning with an assessment and selection of a solution strategy. The tentative high level approach is to extract and accumulate report inputs using standard batch Java/SQL. The output files would then be formatted using XSLT and/or a third party reporting utility like JReport, BIRT, COGNOS, Crystal reports or other comparable solution.
This role includes responsibility for solution architecture definition, proof of concept, framework components, automated conversion/formatting utilities and other infrastructure required to establish and implement batch reporting for approximately 1,000 reports. This is a legacy modernization initiative and prior experience with COBOL would be extremely valuable for analyzing existing patterns to develop the new framework and for conversion specifications.
Candidates will provide technical direction and mentoring to reporting team members including establishing and propagating standards, quality control and overall conformance with the selected processes and methodologies.
Technical Skills
· (7-10 years per skill) Mastery of Java/J2EE Framework and internals of the architecture, including EJB 3.X, SERVLETS, APPLETS, JDBC, JMS, Transaction services, Log4J and Thread Management Strong experience with XML, XSLT and XHTML and usage of `templates` for formatting XML inputs as reports.
· Expertise with one or more reporting utilities including Crystal, COGNOS, BRIT, JReport or equal (preference is for experience with multiple tools)
· Extensive experience with IRAD/Eclipse
· Expertise with SQL, complex queries, stored procedures, packages, triggers, views, analyzing SQL plans
· Hands on experience with performance testing and tuning including third party stress testing tools
· Experience in understanding system security and how to implement them (SQL Injections, Cookies etc.)
· Strong experience designing and working with n-tier architectures (Presentation, Business Logic Layer, Data Access Layer)
· Extensive experience working on large scale enterprise applications with high volume transaction and batch processing
· Ability to reverse engineer existing application components into the new Java architecture Experience with service-oriented architectures (SOA) and Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) Able and willing to be a hands-on architect and senior developer on a team that will start small and grow to peak size over a 3-6m period
Preferred Skills
· Mainframe technologies and/or COBOL preferred for reverse engineering of patterns & requirements
· MyBatis (formerly IBatis) preferred, but not required
· DB2 preferred
· Experience with multiple reporting frameworks/utilities preferred Websphere Websphere batch/Compute Grid or Spring Batch
Experience 7-10 years including a minimum of 2 years performing as a hands on architect/senior developer
Education Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience Certifications are a plus
