Number of resources required: 4 onshore (2 Java developers, 2 PL/SQL developers)

Skill set required:

  • Java Developers – Java 6, Java EE 6 (including EJBJPA, CDI), RAD (Rational Application Developer), WebSphere, SOAP-based Web Services and JAX-WS, XML, XSDJAXB, SQL

  • PL/SQL Developers – Custom made Oracle PL SQL package, triggers, procedure, functions, Oracle PL SQL built-in package, debugging, Oracle DB design, query optimization.

Other desired skills:

  • Java Developers – Maven, Internationalization, RESTful Web Services and JAX-RS, Google Web Toolkit (GWT)

  • PL/SQL Developers – In depth know-how with oracle data dictionary, performance view, prior Oracle DBA a plus.

Duties:

Enhancement of an integrated re(insurance) application, that covers the entire spectrum of underwriting, claims, technical accounting and claims components and surrounding workflow tools.

The team will work with Business Analysts to understand business requirements and apply sound software development practices to ensure high standards of quality in the delivered software.

The team will work with the responsible Swiss Re Architect to define and implement a solution that (a) meets business requirements, (b) is compliant with Swiss Re's technical standards, and (c) is designed with an emphasis on simplicity, maintainability, security, and performance.

Team structure:

All team members are expected to be highly skilled in the technologies listed above.

At least one of the Java developers must be skilled in web development using modern web frameworks such as GWT. Also, at least one of the Java developers must have experience with web service development using JAX-WS, JAXB and JPA (for database access).

Oracle PLSQL developer candidate should have top-notch SQL skill, be able to understand complex structured SQL and view. Oracle PLSQL developer must have been worked exclusively and continuously on Oracle environment for at least three year. He or she has been participant in larger scale custom PL SQL package, store procedure development.

At least one Oracle PLSQL developer should have minimal five year experience exclusively with Oracle database running on large scale installation, have in-depth know-how on oracle data dictionary, performance views and parameters, be able to design efficient database schema, table, views, be able to conduct performance tuning, resource contention diagnosis, Prior oracle DBA experience is a plus but not mandatory. Prior experience with ETL tools like power center is a plus.

The team will report to the project Technical Lead. One of the Java developers will be expected to play a senior role on the team, assisting the Technical Lead in the coordination of team activities. This senior Java developer should be an expert on overall Java EE technologies and understand how all the pieces tie together. Also, this senior Java developer should be comfortable with Maven and CVS and should be experienced on software building principles and processes. Oracle, SQL, PL/SQL

Scope Overview:

  • The Team will serve as main resource to develop the new business capability enhance either on existing classic platform, or on web based new platform based on predefined roadmap, timeline and release schedule

  • The Team will continue maintain and enhance existing platform, add web service when required.

  • The Team will continue maintain existing and future technical framework under the guidance of Senior Technical Architect.

  • The Team will work in Project mode closely with business analyst as well as other IT department and functions.

  • Deliverables may include design, coding, build environment and documentation at different levels.

  • The technical scale and project scope may change over time based on business needs.

  • Tasks and duties include knowledge transfer in, out and within the team, where identified and communicated by the project team leadership.

  • Deliverables and tasks priority will be communicated weekly or daily in cases where quick turnaround is required by the project team leadership.

  • AnchorPerformance is measured by the qualities of work and deliverables (e.g., maintainability, reliability, and performance), completion and response time.

Project Objectives:

We are in the process of enhancing and extending a strategic insurance platform for CorSo EMEA market. Many business capability enhancements are planned to be introduced into this single platform that is robust and scalable to support multiple lines of P&C insurance business with rapid growth in mind. The main focus of this project is to build a robust policy production system (document generation facility), to build web service layer to enable platform to be seamless integrated with internal applications as well as accessible via external agent , to further extending underwriting capability to administrate more Line of Business and Product, to enhance entire platform for robust internationalization capability for emerging market expansion either with organic growth or via merge and acquisition, and at the end to improve efficiency on entire business process chain.
