Role: Data Analyst

Location: Richfield, MN

Rate: $45/hr

 

 

The candidate needs to have strong data analysis and data mining skills. This candidate would ideally have Data conversion experience and should be able to pull ad hoc reports that could be easily understood by internal partners. A solid technical background is essential, and so is the ability to interpret raw information into more relevant terms for our various non-technical teams. This role will be focused on data, working on customer lists from various sources, scrubbing the data and consolidating it. The data Analyst must be confident with massive spread sheets, be comfortable with Excel including manipulation, pivot tables and V-Lookups. The data Analyst must have 4-6 years of experience, be stellar with ad hoc reporting and be able to come in and quickly learn table structures. Some of this reporting will be repetitive; so candidates must be comfortable with iterations.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
* Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Strong understanding of data warehouse concepts is mandatory.
* Good understanding of requirements, and technical experience with databases and data warehousing concepts.
* Experience using Business Intelligence tools such as Business Objects.
* Must be able to translate the requirements or Business logic to the design.
* Hands on experience in writing SQL queries.
* 5+ yrs of experience
* Able to creatively solve complex problems.
* Able to work independently as well as be a team player
* Ability to work on multiple simultaneous projects
* Strong working knowledge of MS applications (Excel, Word)
* Good knowledge of Software Quality Assurance methodology is mandatory.
* Good knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle is mandatory.
* Excellent communication skills mandatory.
* Prior exposure to Agile software development process is desired.
* Understanding of Teradata/SQL/Oracle database structure and experience working with SQL Assistant, Query Analyzer or Toad for Teradata/SQL Server/Oracle databases is desired.

Education and/or Experience:
Worker characteristics are normally acquired through the successful completion of a 4*year college or advanced degree in a computer related, math, science or engineering related field and 5+ years of experience testing; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
