Responsibilities
· Experienced developers are needed to work within an area called Technical Engineering in a large IT department.
· Technical Engineering is responsible for a highly-available Technical Platform.
· Internal consumers interact with Technical Engineering as a hosted service platform provider for their applications.
· Strong developers are needed to develop and mature applications and web interfaces that help individuals to consume the technical platform. For example, one application helps to simplify the interactions required with the core infrastructure components.
· Combined with automation, users are able to utilize this application to self provision applications, services, and request security configurations.
· Developers are needed to mature, provide enhancements and integrate new functionality into this tool.
· This will include additional enhancements to automate infrastructure provisioning capabilities, as well as application deployment and configuration opportunities.
· Another example includes developing functionality for application health dashboards that depict end-to-end critical workflow availability and performance across multiple technical platforms and also enable users to view detailed health metrics about programs (workflows, screens, applications, and services) running on Technical Engineering platform.
· Other opportunities involve working to bring several separate applications/web interfaces together to maintain a holistic view of the digital elements provided by this area (e.g. technical community forum, wiki-based technical documentation, web page, application health dashboards, video interface, and self service portal).
Skills/Experience/Competencies:
Minimum of 3 years of experience in developer role
Experience with the following:
· J2EE/Java -Designing and implementing solutions
· Designing and developing user interfaces (UI)
· Understanding and applying design best practices (e.g. browser compatibility, ADA requirements)
· Developing for different form factors (screen, tablet, mobile)
· Spring Tool Suite
· REST
· SOAP
· Postgres
· Liferay
· Automation
· HTML 5
· CSS
· JavaScript
· Linux
· Puppet
· vcloud director -F5
· Strong technical acumen, learning agility, and curiosity required
· Strong team players with can-do attitudes a must
· Excellent attention to detail and ability to work both independently and collaboratively
