Location : El Segundo, CA
Duration : 6+ month contract
JOB DESCRIPTION :
RESPONSIBILITIES
Senior-level experience in storage and virtualization engineering/implementation.
Senior-level hands-on operation of EMC storage equipment (Clariion, VNX, Symetrix), VMware (vSphere, vCenter) and associated third party management and support tools.
5 years experience with EMC storage
Responsible for contributing to the design & architecture for small to medium projects.
Works on problems of highly complex scope, through expert usage of non-standard concepts & principles requiring high levels of judgement & interpretation.
Works as a guide and assists with directions for medium sized projects of reasonable complexity.
Applies own judgment to independently determine a course of action, which is then executed by other teams.
Role is capable of finding out new methods and processes to approach complex situations in the respective area(s) of expertise.
Requires extensive knowledge of multiple development technologies/ expert knowledge of one technology.
Expected to continue to build upon domain knowledge and technical/ proprietary skills to reach levels of expertise, while adapting standard principles to new or changedconditions in day to day work.
Has the ability to respond to detailed queries.
May be called upon to advise Sr Management on specialized technical issues.
Responsible for coaching, guiding and mentoring junior members in the team to help them scale up faster.
Provides technical leadership and is responsible for the delivery of the technical architectural design, strategies and plans that will be a delivered on an ongoing basis.
Responsible for ongoing management of configuration and layout of storage infrastructure.
Performs necessary storage infrastructure maintenance in accordance with EMC and customer's change management policies.
Designs data migration architecture as required.
Provides analysis of Environment and Best Practice knowledge transfer.
Responsible for Runbook Design, Development, and ongoing updates.
Provides ITIL Process Planning as applicable.
Recommend changes to procedures which result in operational optimization
Participate in Root Cause Analysis reviews when applicable.
