Looking for an experienced Performance Engineer to assist our client with their performance, availability and capacity management needs within their enterprise. The person selected to fill this position must have a solid work history in monitoring and managing distributed systems (UNIX/Linux/Websphere), have a deep understanding of the interaction between IT components (Hardware, Software, Middleware, Networks & Data) and have experience in designing and managing proactive performance modeling techniques to ensure the availability of enterprise business solutions.
The individual chosen for this role will need to have a strong background with MQ Series Software products (MQ Availability) to support our clients enterprise claims systems. The person will work with architecture, triage and Availability teams focusing on delivering solutions to proactively monitor the suite of applications that compose the enterprise claim system and underlying queuing infrastructure. System requirements target a 99.9% availability and the person filling this role will help us improve our monitoring to be able to recognize potential impacts in service prior to affecting the business.
Technical Skills required to be successful in this position include:
MQSeries knowledge and practical experience
· Significant experience with QPASA (senior level) and monitoring of large and complex MQ Architectures and Applications.
· MQ administrator experience (senior level) – the administrator skill is required to effectively navigate the Enterprise Claims System's MQ Architecture. The current ECS MQ infrastructure is built across several platforms and is connected to several non-ECS MQ infrastructures. The infrastructure is extremely complex and knowledge of MQ Clustering is key to understanding how messages are routed and load balanced across MQ servers.
· MQ programming experience (Intermediate level) – solid knowledge of the MQ APIs and various MQ message properties is essential. Working knowledge of JMS APIs and knowledge of IBM MQ's implementation of JMS Message Properties (RFH headers).
· Websphere general experience (Intermediate) – working knowledge of MQ Message listeners, connection factories and queue destinations. Knowledge of how the WAS listeners work and their effect on the performance of the system.
· MQ Broker experience (Intermediate – general knowledge of how MQSeries based broker flows function and how messages are processed within Broker.
· Experience with J2EE application development and deployment practices
