Position: Sr. SQL Server DBA – Tallahassee, FL
Start Date: ASAP
Est. Duration of 1st stage: 1 year with possible extension
Type: Contract
Remote or Onsite: On location at the Client's site 100% of the time. No telecommuting or remote work.
Description: Our Client, a government agency, is currently looking a Sr. SQL Server DBA
Responsibilities:
Provide technical support for the Client's MS SQL Server Databases
Perform database Administrator tasks, software installation and customization, database monitoring and other maintenance and operations support
Provide technical support to a diversity of customers on a 7 x 24 basis with possible hours
after normal work hours and on weekends.
Database Performance tuning and monitoring
MS SQL Server software installation, upgrades and patching
Requirements:
Experience as an MS SQL Server Database Administrator (10+ years)
Experience in a complex MS SQL Server environment with SQL Server2000,
2005, 2008 and 2012.
Experience using scripts and maintenance plans.
Experience tuning of Structured Query Language (SQL) queries.
Experience with Idera SQL Safe, database restores, database software installation, upgrades and maintenance.
Experience in database performance tuning and database clustering.
Experience with Windows Operating systems 2000, 2003, 2008
MS SQL Server software installation, upgrades and patching
MS SQL Server Database backup and restores
ODBC connections
MS SQL Server links to other database software like Oracle
Disaster recovery experience.
