Duration: 6+ months

This position description provides the minimum job requirements as additional duties may be assigned by supervisors.

Purpose of Position:  The Sr. Windows Administrator is responsible for administering and maintaining the company's back-end hardware systems and software applications. 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

·            Develop collaborative partnerships across internal and external technical support teams to maintain and improve the integrity of the Windows server infrastructure.

·            Lead and Manage Windows Administration Team

·            Ability to foster new ideas and concepts and make decisions surrounding complex issues

·            Demonstrated clear and concise verbal and written communication skills at levels appropriate for the intended audience in a professional manner

·            Proven project management and decision-making capabilities

·            Work in collaboration with the project management office to create comprehensive statements of work and detailed project plans involving Windows server infrastructure projects.

·            Participate on server technology implementation and technology evaluation projects as requested.

·            Develop and mentor Administration staff in an effort to improve the delivery of information technology services across the enterprise.

·            Assist Network Team in evaluating technology solutions that will improve the delivery of Enterprise server applications.

·            Meets financial requirements by submitting information for time management. Prepares cost analysis of system design and provides accurate budget / ROI schedules.

·            Maintains system performance by performing system monitoring and analysis, and performance tuning; troubleshooting system hardware, software, networks and operating and system management systems; designing and running system load/stress testing; escalating application problems to vendor.

·            Secures system by developing system access, monitoring, control, and evaluation; testing disaster recovery policies and procedures; completing back-ups; maintaining documentation and inventory.

·            Perform any other tasks as assigned.

·            Minimum of 8 years advanced technical knowledge and experience in management of large Windows server environments

·            Installation and configuration of Windows 2K3 servers running in Active Directory.

·            Extensive experience with infrastructure design, implementation and troubleshooting of large VMware ESX 3.0 and Virtual center environments

·            Extensive experience with Active Directory design, OU administration, GPO administration, FSMO management, AD security.

·            Experience with server monitoring and capacity planning tools.

·            Network management (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP)

·            Five years minimum experience with messaging services, Microsoft Exchange 2003/2007 and integration with Active Directory Services, Blackberry Enterprise Server (BES)

·            Expertise of Windows based applications of basic principles, theories, and concepts

·            Expertise of Third party software integration within a server enterprise environment

·            Expertise in designing and building 2000/2003 Active Directory environments; supporting and administering 2000/2003 Active Directory domain services, including ability to troubleshoot complex replication and authentication issues.

·            Expertise in supporting and maintaining multiple server hardware platforms.

·            Expertise in building and supporting enterprise backup solutions.

·            Knowledge/Expertise in supporting and administering centralized storage platforms, including Storage Area Networks.

 

TECHNOLOGY EXPERIENCE:

           Technologies: Enterprise Windows 2000/2K3/2008, MS Cluster, Active Directory, Server virtualization VMware ESX, NetBackup Enterprise Backup, MS Sharepoint, Symantec Enterprise Anti-Virus, SQL, IIS Web services, WINS, DNS, DHCP, Exchange Email, HP or Dell Blade Servers, CITRIX.
