Direct client:

Sr Java Developer – Back-end Development

Palo Alto, CA – Locals Only
6-12months+

 

Demonstrate your experience with a broad range of web application development tools and techniques

• Employ your skills with building well integrated web apps on the back-end systems

• Build tailored solutions using cutting edge web development tools and technologies

• Learn and work with the latest development technologies

• Work alongside a team of collaborative software innovators

• Opportunities to grow your career into technical leadership roles

 

Duties and Responsibilities

• Apply your broad-based development expertise to create practical, innovative solutions

• Efficiently implement clean, maintainable, and testable software

• Provide work effort estimates

• Interact directly with Solutions Architect

• Maintain clear communications with all stakeholders throughout project lifecycles

• Interact with Software Engineers/Developers to integrate with other backend and frontend services

• Apply excellent communications skills, creativity

• Participate in agile project execution

 

Required Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in computer science, engineering or related field

• At least 7 years designing/implementing interactive web applications

• Experience with Web Services (including SOAP, XML, XML Schema, JSON, open APIs and/or REST)

• Experience with Java and J2EE/Java EE (including servlets, JSP, JSF, JDBC)

• Experience with Hibernate will be helpful

• Experience with FAST or Lucene search engines is highly desirable

• Experience with one or more of the following RDBMS: Oracle RDBMS, MySQL, SQL Server coupled with a solid

understanding and experience with SQL

• Experience with Eclipse, SVN, Jenkins and QA tools

• Experience with developing Java application using Apache

• Experience with other integration technologies (eg. Messaging and queuing systems) a plus

• Agile project experience a plus

• Strong analytical skills and the ability to meet tight deadlines is essential for a fast-paced environment

• Solid understanding of client deliverables and the ability to take responsibility for them

• Good written and spoken English with excellent written and verbal communication skills

 

Additional Qualifications

• Understanding of JavaScript, JavaScript frameworks, DOM, HTML5, CSS3

• Experience with modern browser support and accessibility
