This position is for a consultant to work in Middleware/Infrastructure team that supports intranet / internet facing Java / J2EE applications. The candidate MUST have a MINIMUM of 4 years hand-on experience with IBM WebSphere Administration. Responsibilities include
Perform Websphere Application Server and MQ Administration, WSADMIN scripting. Installation, configuration and administration of application servers and Webservers that host intranet / internet facing Java / J2EE applications Server setup and mgmt, Infrastructure and Environment migrations Support ongoing Production and non-production application environments on an on-call basis. Management of critical systems / systems processes and problem resolution /escalations of data networking and system management issues. Automation of Healthchecks - Review current Wily alerts and custom scripts. Categorize them based on priority, set up thresholds and perform tuning to ensure manageability and also 24x7 uptime for all services. Use the application performance monitoring tool, CA Wily Introscope, to perform performance tuning, problem investigation and resolution in coordination with the development and support teams Performance tuning of J2EE applications and servers, Capacity management for organic and inorganic growth, and Fault/Trouble mgmt. Create and maintain support documentation for on-call and support personnel to monitor and troubleshoot production issues
Requires a Bachelor's degree or Masters Preferred in Computer Science/Information Systems and at least 4 years of experience in the field or in a related area
4+ years of experience in IBM Websphere / MQ clustering and administration. Required experience in IBM Websphere MQ Multi-Instance Queue Manager Required experience in WSADMIN, Jython and UNIX shell scripting Good knowledge of CA Wily Introscope monitoring and reporting. Experience with administering, configuring IBM WebSphere Extreme Scale (WXS) and/or IBM Websphere DataPower administration is a plus. Solid interpersonal/communication skills. Work closely with analysts, developers, quality assurance, and production support team members to align projects and orchestrate resolutions on open issues/defects. Good knowledge of project management skills and concepts
