Role:   Oracle Database Administrator - - # 150

Location:  Albany, NY

Duration: - - 24 Months

 

 

Job Description:

 

• -Develop and perform data analysis studies, database system designs, database systems implementation (predominantly Oracle) and post-implementation review.
• -Design and maintain the database systems which includes but is not limited to: developing data models, defining data entities, data attributes and logical data groups and relationships, defining data dictionary needs, developing physical database design, addressing performance criteria and standards, performing database capacity planning, coordinating change control and developing disaster recovery plans.
• -Monitor and tune the operation and performance of the database systems including such variables as space, buffers and logs, identification of complex problems related to database use, maintenance, and management, determining causes and solutions and maintaining a log of the problems and resolutions for future use.
• -Support the database infrastructure and processes
• -Develop, install and maintain database software and specialized access programs.
• -Develop and implement specialized application access programs, procedures and reports.
• -Provide statistical reports, as well as ad-hoc data reports to the business.
• -Interact with and provide assistance and mentoring to database staff, application developers and operations personnel relating to database software as well as problem detection and resolution.
• -Ensure security protocols and polices are adhered to.
• -Required to be available for 24 X 7 emergency support.

 

Mandatory Requirement:

 

Responsible for data analysis and database management Maintenance, enhancement, designing of data dictionaries, physical and logical database models, and performance tuning

Candidates should have at least 60 months experience, and at least one of the following should apply:

 

• Experience as an Enterprise-wide Relational Database Management Administrator showing proficiency in the installation, configuration and administration of a highly available Oracle RDBMS (10G or higher) in a UNIX and Windows environment adhering to the Oracle Optimal Flexible Architecture Design
• Experience and proficient in programming with SQL and Oracle PL/SQL
• Experience and proficient in advanced system programming including UNIX scripting (Korn shell) and LINUX scripting
• Experience using Oracle RMAN, Oracle Enterprise Manager and Grid control (all 10g or higher)
• Experience with clustered UNIX environments using High Availability HP storage and HP Service Guard.
• Experience in performing business analysis, systems analysis and design, programming and implementation in cross-functional or cross-organizational technology projects (e.g., multi-agency)
• Professional experience with or knowledge of Law Enforcement organizations, applications and infrastructure.
• Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or Computer Information Systems
