Location : Charlotte, NC
Duration : 12 Months Contract
Duties and Responsibilities:
Leads the planning, analysis, design, implementation, maintenance, and control of the organization's server-class databases. Consults with and advises senior management and multiple clients on high impact data or database management issues, influencing strategic direction. Handles and leads various large-scale or highly complex data/database management activities including one or more of the following: designing highly complex logical and/or physical databases; leading highly complex data modeling, mapping, integration, and capacity planning efforts; developing
management policies, procedures and standards; and business requirements identification, analysis and development. Provides mentoring, guidance and general oversight to less experienced staff in a variety of database design, administration and/or modeling activities. Leads complex projects.: 7+ years database design and administration experience.
Additional Job Details:
The candidate should have 7 years of Oracle 10.2 and 11.2 database administration experience.
Also, the candidate should have at least 5 years building and supporting Oracle RAC clusters.
In addition, the candidate will need at least 3 years of configuring and supporting Oracle ASM.
The candidate should have experience with supporting databases in multiple geographically separate data centers.
The DBA should have at least 3 years of configuration and support of standby databases and Oracle Data guard.
Oracle RMAN and ksh scripting experience of at least 5 years is a must.
The ability to work with various knowledge levels of application teams on SQL tuning, application process tuning, production performance troubleshooting is highly required.
Due to the highly complex database environment and multiple teams engaged on a daily basis the excellent verbal and written/email skills are required. Also, the DBA will be working in a on call team rotation on a scheduled basis providing 24x7 support.
