The Enterprise Middle-ware Administrator/Developer is responsible for supporting the Enterprise Middle-ware infrastructure for Client US. As a member of the Enterprise Middle-ware support team within Global Platform & Services, the Enterprise Middle-ware Administrator/Developer is a seasoned professional who will be accountable for providing technical direction to others and capable of leading technical projects with a high level of quality. The Enterprise Middle-ware Administrator/Developer is responsible for analysis, design, implementation, and unit testing to produce high-quality code in their business area and will use industry best practices while serving as a role model and mentor in a team of high-performing professionals. They will contribute beyond assigned tasks in developing innovative solutions. The Enterprise Middle-ware Administrator/Developer is expected to mentor software developers and continually contribute to process improvement activities. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES As a direct report to the Manager of Enterprise Middle-ware, the candidate will have the following responsibilities (which includes two main areas of focus): Project R&D - The Middle-ware Engineer will work closely with in support of global teams and projects throughout the Client organization. - Represents a first point of engagement for introduction of new systems into a fully supported operational model. This individual should be capable of sizing, planning, and delivery of this work scope.
- Deployment of enterprise software systems using scalable systems (virtualized systems and or clustered systems).
- Works closely with solution architects, developers, database administrators, systems and network engineers in developing operational strategies for introduction of new software systems.
- Must be versed in solutions for mobile applications, web applications and middle-ware technologies, focused on delivery of solutions which include self-service, automation, and minimal support overhead.
- Responsibilities include providing engineering support, ensuring best practices are followed, performing design reviews, and working with other Client technical teams on integrations with existing systems.
- Proficiency with the following platforms and applications is desired: Linux, Solaris, Oracle Middle-ware Stack (including Weblogic, SOA, OSB, BAM, ADF), Tomcat, JBoss, Oracle & Mysql Databases, Apache, Adobe CQ, Interwoven/Autonomy Stack (LiveSite, TeamSite, OpenDeploy).Proficiency with the following development technologies is desired: Java, SQL, Hibernate, Lucene/Solr, Flex, HTML5, JavaScript, PHP, CSS, iOS, Coldfusion, and Android. Applicants should be self-motivated, interested in current technology, and willing to learn. This term of project position could become a full time position for the right person.
- Level III Production Support - Manage & support thousands of websites and hundreds of applications deployed across multiple landscapes spanning multiple data-centers (globally).
- Work with operation support teams to troubleshoot and resolve SEV-1 incidents.
- Provide senior level consulting services to development and systems support teams.
- Implement automation solutions that ease workload and reclaim resource time.
- Proficiency with the following is desired: UNIX Shell Scripting, Python/Jython, Puppet automation, Perl, and Ruby.
- Different technologies not listed, but within the same lines of Internet and Mobile systems deployed on UNIX platforms.
- Recommends methods for improved work processes, detailing the process strengths and answering clients questions to gain group consensus
- Questions current methods, while evaluating broad implications, to develop practical improvements
- Tracks internal trends and suggests process improvements based on observations
- Plan and perform environment consolidation/reduction/optimization
- Detail oriented. Strong communication and problem solving skills
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE - Related work experience
- College graduate having obtained his or her degree in an appropriate technology field.
- 10-12+ years experience working with UNIX and Internet based systems.
- Must be highly intelligent, capable of extreme multitasking, and quick reaction time to complex problems.
- Must have a solid understanding of a clustered environment in order to implement in Development and Production.
- Experience in clustering and load balancing techniques
- Experience in performance testing and capacity planning
- Experience in fail-over and recovery planning, design and testing
- Excellent teaming skills. Resourceful and self-starter with minimal hand holding required
- Ability to multi-task and provide expertise for multiple infrastructure related efforts across concurrent project tasks
- Ability to work with operations team and vendors to resolve infrastructure related issues
- Formal education or equivalent
- Bachelors Degree in Information Technology or related field Professional experience & know how:

- SQL Development and Performance Tuning
