Position:  Project manager(5668)
Location: Madison WI
Duration: 04/01/2013 to 06/30/2013
 
This position will manage multiple projects across various areas within the section under the supervision of the Section Chief. Project Management responsibilities include planning, creating work creak down structure, estimating scheduling, assigning tasks based on team member’s skills, monitoring scope and schedule and issue resolution with business area and the technical team. The individual in this position will also perform business analysis for the project being managed, document and manage requirements and test cases. 

The individual may be asked to perform only business analysis for certain areas within the section. 
This position will not have supervisory responsibilities and will assign and monitor tasks only for the projects that h/she is managing
 
The candidate should have strong project management and business analysis skills. The candidate should have experience managing large projects (over 10,000 hours). Proficiency in MS Project and the ability to follow through tasks assigned to a team with a varied skill level is a required skill for this position. The candidate should be proactive in assessing the status of activities and setting the right expectations with the team and management at the right time. Candidate will also be responsible for gathering, documenting and managing requirements with the business users. Candidate should be able to quickly get up to speed with the current status of projects, the business requirements and the business processes. Candidate should be willing to adapt to and learn the processes and tools being used in the project for Project Management and requirements gathering. Examples are : requirements gathering using Behavior driven development methodology, use Team Foundation Server for managing tasks within the project team and use MS Project for scheduling and communicating project progress to management. Candidate should also have a technical background or familiarity with managing .Net web applications and the ability to facilitate technical discussions to validate solutions proposed by the architect and ensure that they align with business and management objectives. In addition to the above, the Project Manager will be required to work with business users to provide status updates, coordinate issue resolution and manage risks and ensure project execution within budget.
 
 The candidate should have strong communication skills and should be a team player. Hardware/Software Environment: Web environment – Windows 2000 and 2003 web/application servers, ASP.Net using VB.Net, C# SQL Server, Oracle, DB2 Active Directory, IIS 7.x, Mainframe Other tools – Microsoft Office Suite, Visio.
