Supports internal staff by ensuring that the required databases are installed, maintained and available for use. Provides DBA support to IT projects. Develops, implements and reviews database design and stored procedures. Implements database upgrades backups and restores. Verifies data integrity and performs research and analysis of other DBA's. Responsible for suitable and reliabile back up and recovery methodology. Recommends and consults with users on access to various databases. Responsible for quality control. Able to trouble shoot and solve complex problems of a project.
Participate in a rotating, 7x24 availability on-call support function.
o Administration focused
o 3-5 years combined experience working with SQL 2005, 2008, or 2012 (maybe +5)
o Working knowledge of Oracle and MySQL a plus
o In depth knowledge and understanding of
§ installations
§ Stand alone and clustered SQL Server configuration
§ How to configure both HA and DR for SQL Server
§ Query performance and databases performance tuning
o In depth understanding of how to perform cluster disk work to add and extend LUNs for the databases and from an OS perspective
Other Skills Should have a sound working knowledge of
