US CONSULTING - CONTRACT Cognos Developer - Charleston, West Virginia - 6+ months

Cognos Developer

Location : Charleston, WV (West Virginia)

Duration: 6+ months

Start Date : ASAP

Note: Must have good understanding of SQL queries generated by Cognos and how to modify them

 

REQUIRED SKILLS:

1. Candidate should definitely have experience in one of the 2 technologies mentioned below

i.Must have minimum 2 years of recent experience with Cognos BI Reporting tool. 

Must have good understanding of SQL queries generated by Cognos and how to modify them, if needed.

ii.Must have minimum 2 years of recent experience in Oracle and PL/SQL . 

This includes experience in writing complex SQL queries, stored procedures, creating and managing tables.

iii.Knowledge about Oracle administration is a plus.

 

2.Effective verbal and written communication skills – Communication is key as we are a very small team. 

 

PREFERRED SKILLS:

Knowledge of Data Warehousing concepts including dimensional data modeling

 

EXPECTED DELIVERABLES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

Test and manage data loaded into our Data Warehouse.  Develop Cognos FM, reports and dashboards.  Assist Client  Track Leads with documentation as needed.

Other:

- Candidate will be working as a sole developer mostly. This is not a travelling position and candidate will be required to be on project site.

- Candidate will be working extensively on SQL, Oracle and Cognos. 

- Candidate with java skills in addition to Data Warehouse experience would be a plus.
