• The client has an application that interfaces with the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) using SOAP web services.
• The EPA is changing their services to REST based and the application requires modifications to support these changes.
• With the transition the application will need to include a service orchestration component, were as today service orchestration is handled outside of the application.
• The application uses DB2 and MSSQL for data persistence and is deploy to a Unix Tomcat application server.
• The assignment requires the candidate to develop the functional and technical requirements, system design with several technical views using UML (i.e. sequence, activity diagrams) and a system component model, as well as, integrating the solution into the existing application and deploying the application into production.
Technologies:
Server: Apache Tomcat, UNIX, Shell Scripts
Databases: MSSQL, DB2
Tools: Java, Oracle Service Bus , DB2 Connect, JDBC, Sparx's (UML Modeling)
Web Services: SOAP, REST, WSDL
Qualifications:
• 7+ years development experience.
• Expert technical knowledge, with hands-on experience in program development in one or more technology environments.
• Expert skills in verbal and written communications, with the ability to express highly complicated technical concepts in business terms.
• Expert analytical, problem-solving, and conceptual skills. Strong interpersonal skills; ability to work well on cross-functional project teams.
• Strong experience in the industry or in a production/service environment similar to SEu. Extensive knowledge in systems development life cycle and methodologies .
• Demonstrated ability to lead small (1-3 resources) development efforts.
