Job Description:
Client currently seeks a Network Performance Analyst to join our team in Bloomington, IL.
Qualifications:
Client is seeking a Network Performance Analyst to join our team of professionals supporting a key client.
A network performance analyst will ensure that the capacity and performance of the enterprise network meets business partner needs by analyzing and reporting on trending data to identify threshold violations, degradation, prolonged spikes, or other key network performance metrics.
It would be beneficial if the analyst has experience troubleshooting network level issues for applications. Individual chosen to fill this role will participate in performance testing of networked applications to determine network capacity and application analysis.
Need knowledge of network tools such as eHealth, Opnet, NetQoS, Infinistream as well as other tools: HTTP Watch and Splunk.
Skills and Expertise:
· Packet analysis using tools such as OPNET IT Guru, SPLUNK, Wireshark
· Network fundamentals (Cisco IOS, TCP/IP, OSI model)
· Internal network architecture
The primary tasks include:
· Participate in performance testing of networked applications to determine if they meet the performance requirements of the customer.
· Apply good organization and problem-solving skills.
· Apply knowledge in performance monitoring and planning methodologies.
· Apply specific expertise in one or more tools (e.g., eHealth, NetQoS,OpNet, Observer/Gigamon, HTTPWatch, and WireShark)
· Apply performance tuning experience as it relates to I/O, network/hardware, SQL, and Java specific processes.
· Assist in creating and updating performance plans, bridging IT Infrastructure, application optimization, and provide strategic and tactical Business Requirements.
· Provide infrastructure performance assessment including complete analysis of perceived performance problems and be able to quantify results.
· Apply strong knowledge of Web Based Infrastructures.
· Apply working knowledge of database structures, modeling and tools.
. Participate in the creation of performance and capacity reports. These reports need to be understandable and meaningful for executive, middle management, and technical audiences.
· Experience in both capacity planning and capacity management.
· Apply knowledge of LAN/WAN technologies, TCP/IP, and network protocols.
· Apply knowledgeable of Service Management/ITIL best practices
· Apply Knowledge of project methodology/SDM
