Position: Technical Support
Location: Albany, NY
Duration: 24 Months
2-3 references required.
Job Description:
Daily Tasks include but not limited to the following:
a. Performs all Imaging and/or re-imaging of PC's; must be familiar with MS Active Directory;
b. Installation, maintenance and support of new and redeployment of PCs, Printers and PDA devices;
c. Perform hardware/software patching on Microsoft, Unisys and multi-vendor systems;
d. Collects information needed for new installations or modifications to existing configurations;
e. Add and support software as needed including Operating Systems, Office Productivity Suites and special applications;
f. Must be proficient in the overall installation of applications including software settings, registry keys and browser options;
g. Runs diagnostic software to ensure that equipment operates properly and takes appropriate corrective action when required
h. Installs, configures and/or customizes software and ensures that the configurations meets Agency requirements;
i. Monitors Help Desk Problem Tracking Systems for end user requests;
j. Coordinates with vendors in the installation, administration, testing and maintenance of hardware and software;
k. Support technical aspects of VOIP and other telephony platforms
Participates in the decommissioning of Computer Equipment including:
a. Assessment and determination of PC equipment for future use;
b. Perform all aspects of the surplus process for PC disposal including identifying equipment, filling out all necessary forms and oversee the removal of retired equipment.
Liaison for Data Center Connectivity including:
a. Installs, tests and verifies all LDAP Connections from the PC to the Unisys mainframe;
b. Establishes Citrix Connections from the mainframe clients to the OFT network;
c. Installs, tests and verifies all Printer Connections on the mainframe network to the OFT Network;
Acts as a liaison for all Command Center issues. Including granting access to the Citrix System for email and Internet connectivity. Setup, maintain and repair all command center PCs. Troubleshoot and repair printer problems and connectivity to the Unisys mainframe LPARs.
Candidates should have at least 36 months experience, and at least one of the following should apply:
· Contiguous experience providing technical support for network printers, workstations, servers and other network devices in a large enterprise environment (over 30,000 users), including a variety of vendor specific equipment
· Contiguous experience supporting MS Office products on a large scale environment serving over 30,000 users
· Contiguous experience in providing outstanding telephone technical support to over 30,000 users in a large scale environment
· Contiguous experience using MS Active Directory and installing imaging software on a large variety of vendor specific devices
· Contiguous experience in supporting VOIP technology for a large scale environment (over 30,000 users)
· Contiguous experience in installing and maintaining new and redeployed hardware in remote locations.
· Contiguous experience in the assessment of hardware devices to determine its future uses and/or begin and follow through with the proper surplus process
· Contiguous experience in the use of management systems such as SCCM tools and HP Service Now, including, but not limited to updating, opening, and closing tickets in a timely fashion.
