US CONSULTING - CONTRACT Requirement for Lead java consultant in Durham NC

Position               : Lead Java

Location               : Durham N.C.

Duration              : 6 + Months

 

The Technical Lead Software Engineer will work as one of the leaders on the team to design, develop and maintain J2EE based web applications.  This technical lead developer position is a key role in providing technology solutions to satisfy business capabilities/features. This position will be responsible for providing technology solutions to our core applications and underlying infrastructure.  They will also participate in product roadmap initiatives looking to set product direction and modernize our core infrastructure/applications.

Responsibilities:

•           Design, develop, and implement J2EE web applications - including functional analysis, technical analysis, coding and unit testing
•           Contribute to or write concise and clear technical specifications based on analysis of complex business requirements
•           Work in partnership with team members and business partners through all phases of the project life cycle to ensure business requirements are met within established project schedules.
•           Adhere to all software best practices, including on-time delivery of all project assignments and implementations free of defects.
•           Conduct thorough testing in Development Integration, Systems Integration and Business Acceptance testing environments
•           Provide production support to maintain critical systems processes consistent with industry and organization best practices.
•           Participate in functional/technical group discussions with analysts and developers under minimal supervision
•           Contribute effectively at many different points in a project life cycle, as an individual contributor

 

Requirements:

•           Experience with Java/J2EE and other server-side technologies
•           Experience with Service Oriented Architecture
•           Experience with JSP/CSS/ HTML/JavaScript
•           Experience with Spring, XML and webserver technologies
•           Knowledge of relational databases
•           Strong analytical & documentation skills
•           Ability to multi-task, manage time and priorities, and meet scheduled deadlines
•           Occasional opportunities to travel domestically and internationally are possible.

Preferred:

•           Unified Modeling Language (UML)
•           Hands-on experience with UNIX and ClearCase
•           Knowledge of Flash, Flex or Silverlight
•           Experience with rich internet technologies
•           Quality Center & Rational Team Concert
•           Knowledge of or familiarity with Financial Planning and Managed Accounts applications highly preferred.
