Job Title:  FPGA Hardware Engineer/Developer

Location:   Germantown, MD

Duration:   9+ months

Rate: $best/hr on c2c or 1099 AI

 

 

 

FPGA Engineer for telecom field test development.

 

Our client  is looking for candidates to a fill an FPGA Engineer contract position. MTBU develops telecom test equipment in technologies including PDH, Sonet/SDH, OTN, Ethernet and Fibre Channel at line rates up to 100G+. The products are portable field instruments designed primarily to aid service provider technicians in installation and maintenance of their networks. Successful candidates will join other members of the MTBU Engineering team and contribute to product development.

 

Requirements:

- Experience with high speed FPGA design (>100 MHz) in Verilog/VHDL

- Experience with timing constraints and resolving timing issues

- Experience with developing and running simulations, Aldec Riveria experience a plus.

- Experience with floor planning

- Knowledge of scripting languages (Perl, TCL, shell)

- Familiarity with Linux

- Experience with transceivers and high speed serial data transfer a strong plus

- Telecom knowledge (Ethernet/SONET/Fibre Channel/OTN) a strong plus

- Knowledge of software design principles desired
