Responsible for activities related to Sr. systems administration functions such as installing, configuring and maintaining Solaris and Linux servers in support of business processing requirements. Responsible for the integrity of the server infrastructure. Define and create procedures for supporting and monitoring of multiple system environments. Responsible for directing other team members and may act as a project coordinator. Has operational experience in support of the administration of mission-critical environment. Able to trouble shoot and solve complex problems of a project. Will direct other team members. Makes technical recommendations to correct issues and makes recommendations for  long term solutions.

 

Requirements:

Minimum 6 years' experience in Solaris and Red Hat / CentOS.

Must have current experience with Solaris 10 (installing and updating).

Must have experience with patching and live updates.

Must have experience with zones.

Must have experience repurposing servers.

Must have experience with entry, mid and high level servers.

Must have experience with both old and new server lines.

Must have experience with SVM and Veritas.

Must have experience configuring Virtual interfaces.

Must have experience with both SPARC and x86 servers.

Must have experience with SAR and auditing.

Must have experience scripting in at least two languages (shell, perl, ruby, perl, c).

Must have financial experience in an operational role within a mission-critical environment

Ideally would have experience with SOX.

Ideally would have Solaris internals experience.

Ideally would have experience with capacity planning.

Ideally should have experience with databases and web servers.

Ideally would have experience with IDM (Novell).

Ideally would have experience with HIDS.

Ideally would have experience with BMC products.

Ideally would have experience writing code in any one of the following:  C, C++, or Java.

 

Education:

Bachelor's Degree required, preferably in a related discipline
