US CONSULTING - CONTRACT Banner Project Manager - Part Time :: Columbia, SC

Duration: 6+ months (Average 30 hrs/week)

Thorough knowledge of Datatel/Banner/Elucian business processes, software offerings, and pricing models needed.

 

Description

The following scope of work and tasks will be completed:
• Create an online workspace/collaborative community to upload all documents for review.
• Manage the project, meetings, schedule and documents using the collaborative community workspace in order to improve communications and information sharing.
• Review each agreement provided including all business and legal terms and provide a written matrix comparing all key terms. Areas for review include software pricing, software maintenance pricing, software maintenance terms, legal terms, consulting services and training fees, etc.
• Identify the most advantageous terms achieved along with recommendations.
• Provide comments regarding comparisons to other institution terms.
• Make specific recommendations regarding potential next steps or potential areas for re-negotiation, if appropriate.
• Provide a separate document with recommendations for state contracting requirements.

• A review and analysis of opportunities for collaborative service provisioning including the concept of a shared services approach.
• The following scope of work and tasks will be carried out, and are broken down as follows:

Step 1: Baseline Determination. The purpose is to gather information to clearly understand the current  state of technology across all system institutions to include:
• Services provided
• Software and infrastructure for supplying these services
• Customer/stakeholder assessment of current services
• Customer/stakeholder recommendations for improvements
• Cost analysis of current services

This information will be obtained through analysis of documentation and reports, interviews, focus groups, and online surveys.
Step 2: Opportunities Analysis
An analysis of the current state will be conducted to prioritize areas deemed to have higher potential for realizing desired improvements and cost reduction. An environmental scan will be conducted on these areas to determine ways in which services can be provided to include industry standards, best practices, and emerging innovations.
• Analysis and prioritization areas for further examination
• Information on how higher priority services can be provided and future directions
• A final list of areas to pursue further

Step 3: Business case development and recommendations
A business case will be developed for a select set of options that provide the best combination of potential value and feasibility and will serve as the basis for recommendations for actions.

The following will be produced:
• Alternatives for reaching the desired goal
• Data for each alternative
• Organizational value
• Feasibility analysis
• Costs, benefits, and risks
• Recommendations for actions and rationale
