Education/Experience:
3-5 years of professional experience in web development or a related field.
POSITION SUMMARY
A UIE2 writes front-end UI code for the User Interface team. They are competent in HTML 4 and 5, CSS 2 and 3, JavaScript and jQuery. Ideal UIE2s will have experience with large enterprise software projects.
This position will interact closely with project management and software engineers.
INTERVIEW REQUIREMENTS
.               Must be able to problem solve on a white board using hand-written pseudo-code (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
.               Must understand standard HTML and CSS without needing a computer for reference
.               Must understand basic JavaScript without needing a computer for reference
.               Must have created at least one static website from scratch
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
.               Build, test, deploy and maintains front-end code for accessible web pages and applications in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript and jQuery
.               Self-manage work on projects and coordinate with other stakeholders
.               Participate in project planning and estimating
.               Works tightly with other members of the team

We are looking for a self-motivated, enthusiastic and passionate Sr. Software Engineer to work on the next-generation real-time financial data web platform. The ideal candidate thrives in a highly technical role and will design and develop software using multiple technologies and spanning across multiple geographically located data centers. The development is already underway so the candidate would be expected to get up to speed very quickly & start contributing.
 
Skills & Requirements

Very strong Java programmer with concurrency & distributed application development experience
API development experience
Strong knowledge of webcentric technologies including HTML, JSON, XML, JavaScript, Websockets
Experience tuning java garbage collection & performance is a must.
Garbage collection friendly programming experience in Java is a huge plus
Web services (REST/SOAP) development experience is a plus
Development experience with one or more of Netty, akka, Cassandra is a big plus
.NET development experience is a plus [if not, willingness to learn & be a hybrid developer]
Knowledge of Google protobuf is a good to have
Java Swing/JavaFX experience is a plus
In general willing to learn & master new technologies. We cross train team members, so candidate should be open to work on different parts of the platform (server side & UI).
