Technical Writer, Mainframe Environment

6 month contract

New York, NY

 

Additional Details:

F2F required. Good communication skills required. Must have experience documenting COBOL and be able to at least read the code.

 

Description:

Responsibilities:

 Perform business analysis and documentation of business process flows, procedures, and operations.

 Work with Business Users, IT Developers, and various other groups to reverse engineer system requirements and processes in support of a Risk Mitigation / Knowledge Transfer effort.

*WRITING SAMPLES WILL BE REQUESTED FOR AN INTERVIEW*

 

Required Skills:

•              Experience with documenting COBOL and working in mainframe environments

•              Excellent verbal & writing communication skills

•              Working knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodologies

•              Experience with UML (use cases, activity diagrams, sequence diagrams)

•              Experience facilitating requirements gathering sessions

•              Previous experience or business knowledge of development components and enterprise architecture

 

Additional Skills:

•              Experience reverse engineering systems and processes.

•              Experience with customer billing systems.

•              Experience working in a utility or other highly regulated environment.
