Position: Integrated Data Management: iDM Strategic Data Consultant
Location: Houston, Texas
Duration : Long Term

Primary Job Functions

• Provide Data Management consulting globally across all business lines excluding Upstream Technical Consulting.
• Work with projects to understand the business process involved and the data requirements that pertain to that process.
• Assess and document data requirements as well as provide recommendations which ensure a worldwide Data consistency (e.g., identification of Data sources, quality, structure, classification, retention).  Note: Data Consulting outcomes and notifications are reviewed during the project Gate reviews.
• Very high engagement on projects providing significant contribution in: Understanding and modeling their Data requirements, Providing both Logical and Physical Data Model in case of  "in-house" application development, Ensuring the use of our corporate Data standards, Identifying Data sourcing & Reconciliation strategies, Participating in the vendor package selection and/or implementation analysis to ensure best fit within corporate data architecture, Delivering data quality diagnosis, Providing data conversion strategy & guidance, and Offering Data Integration design.

Technical Skills

• Prior experience with the Data modeling, database administration, and/or Application development would be a plus.
• ER Studio expert.
• Data Modeling principles + advanced training.
• Business Data requirements understanding and capture.
• Business process modelling.
• SAP integrated solutions experience.

Industry Background

• Chemical Project experience desired.

Other Skills Required

• Business Knowledge in any of the following areas: Supply Chain Mgmt., Product Data Management or Engineering Data Management, or experience with any of the SAP modules would facilitate the understanding of the project's requirements.

General Skills

• Very highly developed English communication skills (both oral and written) as well as the ability to convey complex technical requirements both in words and pictures.
• Able to operate autonomously and assertively, have a customer orientation, and be interested in both organizational and technical challenges.
• Business Knowledge in Global HR, Financial, SAP modules would facilitate the understanding of project's requirements.
• Ability to handle multiple issues/tasks simultaneously with changing priorities.
• Ability to work effectively in an integrated fashion in an environment with broad cultural diversity and across different time zones.
• Ability to work effectively in virtual environments, utilizing audio conference and online collaboration tools.
• Need to be able to prioritize and work with various resources (project internal & external) to get issues resolved.
• Ability to communicate work progress across the project.
