Position: Integration Architect
Location: Austin, TX
Duration: 6-12 Months
Client: National Instruments
The Enterprise Integration Architect is responsible for developing, implementing, and leading the Integration pillar of National Instruments Architecture practice. This practice drives the organization to a rational, dynamic, and cost-effective future-state technology architecture enabling our long-term corporate strategy. Integration Architecture include accountability for EAI, ESB, SOA, and ETL frameworks as well as other integration techniques.
Key Deliverables:
Solicit, identify, define, and manage Enterprise level integration patterns, anti-patterns, and trend lifecycles in partnership with a federated delivery organization.
Create, socialize, and maintain strategically-aligned integration architecture roadmaps
Assess and document current-state technology & architecture
Identify risks, gaps, and appropriate alignment of current state capabilities
Provide architectural guidance and decisions on projects
Investigate, identify, and propose new technologies when appropriate
Be recognized as an influencer and leader with regards to the integration frameworks
Lead, design, and implement processes and technologies to enable an effective and sustainable SOA practice
Support innovation and solution consulting practices focused on SOA within the organization.
Align IT Integration strategy and planning with the companys business goals and objectives
Stay current on competitive capabilities and technology trends to build thought leadership in the Integration Architecture space.
Partner with application, infrastructure, and information architect leaders to document and maintain accurate view of current state architecture
Partner with application, infrastructure, and information architect leaders to develop a cohesive, rational, scalable, and adaptable future state architecture based on business strategy
Work with business leaders, business architects, and subject matter experts to develop a deep understanding of future-state business strategy, architecture, and associated requirements
Partner with subject-matter experts to translate business requirements into enterprise-level solutions
Promote the use of a shared infrastructure and application technologies to reduce costs, simplify the environment, and improve overall resiliency
Develop and document policies and standards for managing the Integration Architecture in alignment with the Enterprise Architecture practice
Socialize and evangelize the Integration pillar of the Enterprise Architecture practice to business constituents, IT, and senior management.
Drive architecture strategy of canonical data models to support the integration architecture of various key initiatives at an enterprise level
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Ability to think strategically when faced with complex, difficult, and far-reaching problems
Skilled in the practice of inquiry; ability to listen and incorporate ideas
Ability to challenge at all levels in the organization when appropriate
Motivated, self-starter with strong problem solving methodology
Clear understanding of MDM, RDM, and other data management techniques
Knowledge of IT concepts, strategies, methodologies, architectures, and technical standards
Knowledgeable in new and emerging technologies
Strong leadership and negotiation skills with business and technical groups
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Demonstrated ability to build consensus among many stakeholders
Demonstrated experience with SOAP, REST, SAML, XACML, JMS, JSON, and other web service technologies/practices.
Demonstrable experience with Web services, XSD/XML, WSDLs, Messaging Apps (MQ, EMS, JMS) and other SOA based integration standards and technologies
Clear understanding of service virtualization, service registry, UDDI, etc.
Experience with Middleware products such as Oracle SOA Suite, BPEL, and BAM
Strong understanding of SOA, Enterprise Service Bus, and hub & spoke architectures
Ability to establish, implement, and enforce appropriate IT standards through the art of influence to meet business requirements
Demonstrated Integration experience between COTS (Commercial
Off-the-shelf) packaged applications and custom distributed and legacy environments with strong emphasis on SOA solutions at the enterprise level
Qualifications:
A bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field is required.
7+ years Integration development/management experience, including service development and experience designing enterprise class integration solutions for multiple types of systems, client users and/or units across an organization
5+ years demonstrated experience designing/implementing Integration Architecture supporting heterogeneous technology architectures (consumer-grade experience a plus)
2+ years experience with Architecture frameworks (e.g. TOGAF) and operating within a structured Enterprise Architecture practice
2+ years experience designing, developing, and managing EAI, Enterprise Service Bus, SOA web services, and hub/spoke architectures
2+ years experience with ETL technologies
