Role: Software Developer -Linux/Android
Location: Hillsboro, Oregon

Duration:

This is a hands-on software development and testing position that will involve user application and middleware design and development, network/kernel programming that interfaces with cellular protocol stack, automation solution design and development, and testing. The candidate will work on application development for E2E LTE testbed on Linux platform and test automation for both lab and field for Standard and Advanced Technology team in Intel Mobile Communications Group.

REQUIRED SKILLS
•BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent with 3+ years of SW development experience.
•Hands on experience with writing network filter drivers and USB drivers for Android and Linux, modules in Android and Linux that interface with video codecs, and Android applications
•Experience in network programming (such as TCP/IP networking, socket communication)
•Working knowledge of Application traffic modeling, QoS, and statistical traffic generation
•Experience in GUI design and development on Linux for real time data status change in graphical representation
•Strong knowledge of Android SDK and related components (such as touch, display, wireless, etc.)
•Strong knowledge of Android media framework
•Strong knowledge of Android and Linux internals, especially in the area of networking, USB, video codecs
•Experience in advanced programming, including object-oriented development, Java, C, C++, Javascript
•Proficiency debugging Android apps and Linux applications
•Working knowledge of the software engineering development process and project life cycle
• Strong ability to write technical documentation in Microsoft Office
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal communication
• Strong analytical and problem solving/troubleshooting skills
•Self-motivated

PREFERRED SKILLS
•Experience with Python/Perl/shell scripting languages
•Good knowledge of mobile broadband/cellular (2G/3G- GGE, UMTS, WCDMA) protocols and infrastructure
•Experience in integration/testing of mobile broadband and/or cellular devices
•Experience in Web application development that processes database and generates statistics graph.
•Good knowledge of LTE protocol is a big advantage
