US CONSULTING - CONTRACT Java Developer

Hi,

Client a Media company has an immediate need for a Java Software Engineer.
Duration: 6 month C2H
Location: Manhattan, NY
Salary/Rate: 12/9/2103
Start Date: ASAP

US Citizen or GC Holder or GC EAD ONLY

Mandatory Skills:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
• Java language programming
• Concurrent programming concepts (experience with Actors or message

passing desirable)

• Object-Oriented Design and Programming
• Java Servlet API (version 3 desirable)
• TCP and HTTP networking, related Java standard libraries APIs
• Data exchange using XML and JSON
• SQL and database design (MySQL and Oracle desirable)
• Common Linux commands and server configuration
• Unit testing and common unit testing frameworks

Additional Skills:
Software engineer who will develop modules for server-side data processing and servlets for RESTful web services in Scala as part of a project to build a system to monitor election returns, exit polls, and support projections on election night.
The software engineer will be responsible for implementing user stories as code with complete unit tests, writing source code documentation, researching technical issues, finding and correcting software errors, writing design and technical documents, configuring web servers and applications.
